With flight times from just 40 minutes and ferries from 3 hours, we're closer than you think.
Nothing is far away on the island of Guernsey; forget long commutes and spend more time on the things that matter to you.
Guernsey has a friendly and welcoming community of just over 63,000 people.
Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands, located 30 miles from the Normandy coast and 70 miles from the South coast of England.
A hidden gem nestled in the English Channel, Guernsey not only offers a geographically convenient business centre close to many of the major European cities, but also a safe and friendly place to live, something often lost in the hustle and bustle of today's business world.
We fell in love with Guernsey as tourists. The mix of Gower coastline and Cotswold countryside reflects areas we have lived and loved on the mainland. COVID taught us we could run our business from anywhere, so the ‘One Day’ dream became a reality. We’re now celebrating our first anniversary on the island and have absolutely no regrets. There are many newfound delights of sea swimming, walking the dogs on the many beaches every day, the dialled back pace of life, hedge veg, beach kiosk coffee & cake, Guernsey cream and great restaurants.
My wife and I had a number of options available to us when we were looking to settle in a new home country. Having made 9 international moves in the past 25 years we had a pretty good sense of what was important to us when looking for a “forever home”. Most important to us was the feeling of open spaces while still being close to a town centre and good restaurants. Guernsey certainly allows for all of these and much more.
The many beautiful beaches and hiking trails are a great way to explore the island. For our family, membership to the golf course has been a very good way to meet people and form a community.
Guernsey also checked all the boxes in that it is close to our grown-up children in the UK, encourages an active outdoor lifestyle and has an open and friendly community who have warmly welcomed us.
I moved to Guernsey in 2021 to join family who were already here and have become part of a much bigger community since I arrived. The career opportunities are varied and interesting and the ability to get involved in just about any activity you can think of, unsurpassed!
Seeing the sea every day brings me joy and my dogs love running in the sand. My young nieces are growing up in a warm, friendly, and safe community with stunning scenery.
The team at Locate Guernsey are friendly, approachable, and full of useful advice for making the move, they helped me get started finding a home, making business contacts and understanding the practical aspects of the move.
