1. Pet Travel rules for Guernsey
If you are moving from the UK, Channel Islands, or Isle of Man, you can bring your dog to Guernsey without a pet passport - unless your dog is a banned breed or a hybrid of an endangered species.
If you're relocating from outside the UK, your dog must:
- Have a valid pet passport
- Enter Guernsey via the UK or Crown Dependencies first
- Be microchipped and registered on an approved database

2. Transport options for dogs
There are several ways to bring your dog to Guernsey:
By Sea
- Brittany Ferries: Dogs can travel by foot or car (France route requires car travel)
- The Pet Bus: Offers pet transport from the UK in specially fitted vehicles
By Air
- Aurigny: Dogs (8+ weeks) can travel in the hold on the first flight of the day between Southampton and Guernsey
- Blue Islands: Dogs can travel in the hold on select routes including Guernsey - Southampton and Jersey - Guernsey

3. Dog-friendly beaches in Guernsey
Most of Guernsey’s beaches are dog-friendly, but there are seasonal restrictions from 1 May to 30 September at:
- Fermain
- Petit Bot
- L'Erée
- Vazon (north end)
- Cobo
- Port Soif
- L'Ancresse
- Pembroke
Dogs are never permitted around the Bathing Pools.

4. Dog tax in Guernsey
All dog owners must pay an annual dog licence fee of £10 per dog, due by 31 January each year. This applies to dogs over 6 months old, except for assistance dogs.
