Locate Guernsey’s 2025 update

As 2025 draws to a close, it’s clear that this has been a landmark year for Guernsey’s relocation and property landscape. From record-breaking Open Market property sales to the most attended Relocate to Guernsey Show in London, the island continues to attract interest from individuals and families seeking a better quality of life, a vibrant community, and a stable environment for investment.

Record Open Market property sales

October 2025 marked the strongest month of the year for Guernsey’s property market, with 11 Open Market transactions, the highest monthly figure so far this year. Notably, five of these sales were to individuals relocating to the island, underscoring the growing appeal of Guernsey as a destination for those seeking a fresh start or a strategic move.

This surge in activity reflects broader trends: every month in 2025 has outperformed its 2024 counterpart, with total property sale values reaching £604 million by the end of October, up more than £137 million year-on-year. Falling interest rates and renewed buyer confidence have played a key role in this momentum, making Guernsey’s Open Market more accessible and attractive than ever.

A record breaking Relocate to Guernsey Show

Held in London on 9 October, the Relocate to Guernsey Show 2025 welcomed 313 attendees and 25 Guernsey-based businesses, making it the most successful edition of the event to date. The show offered a comprehensive look at life on the island, with seminars covering property, tax, education, healthcare, and business opportunities.

Jo Stoddart, Director of Locate Guernsey, described the event as “a fantastic demonstration of what can be achieved when Guernsey comes together with a shared purpose.” The show’s success reflects a growing interest in Guernsey’s unique blend of lifestyle and opportunity, and plans are already underway to expand next year’s event.

Looking ahead

As we prepare for 2026, Locate Guernsey remains committed to supporting individuals and businesses in their journey to the island. Gill Mabbett shared “Whether through settling-in events, tailored relocation support, or collaborative initiatives with local partners, we’re proud to help newcomers not just relocate - but truly integrate”.

Guernsey’s appeal continues to grow, and 2025 has proven that with the right support and vision, the island can thrive as a destination of choice for those seeking community, opportunity, and a better way of life.
