10 events not to miss in Guernsey this summer

New to the island? There’s plenty to be getting involved with this summer in Guernsey and we’ve created a guide of our top 10 events to truly experience your new island community and keep your diary packed!
1. Seafront Sundays
Certain Sundays between May and September 2025
Enjoy an al-fresco vibe along the St Peter Port seafront on certain Sundays during the summer months.
Each Seafront Sunday has a different theme, but all offer the chance to stroll along the seafront, enjoying the casual friendly atmosphere.
2. Cobo Balcony Gigs
Sundays between 4 May – 24 August 2025
The Cobo Balcony Gigs have become a major part of Guernsey summers over the past 30 years and bring a real carnival atmosphere to the Cobo seafront whilst raising much needed funds for local charities.
3. Guernsey Together Festival
Saturday 14 June 2025
Celebrate music, dance and food & drink at Guernsey’s family summer music festival.
4. 30 Bays in 30 Days
1 July – 30 July 2025
With stunning coves, secluded beaches and natural pools, all filled with crystal clear water, there is a lot to explore no matter where you choose to take a dip in Guernsey.
A great way to explore the island whilst raising funds for Les Bourgs Hospice is to take part in the 30 Bays in 30 Days challenge. Throughout July each year, swimmers swim at least 30 strokes at 30 named bays and beaches around Guernsey.
5. KPMG Castle Nights
Every Friday between 11th July – 1st August 2025
The gates of Castle Cornet open on four Friday evenings each summer for KPMG Castle Nights featuring live music, singing and family fun. Enjoy the free entertainment, take a picnic and soak up the atmosphere at one of Guernsey’s most historic sites. Numbers within the Castle are controlled, so please arrive early as queues do start early.
6. Sark Sheep Racing
18 & 19 July 2025
Sark's day at the races is a fun-packed day out for all the family, with sheep racing, food stalls, games, and an evening of live music.
All proceeds go to The Professor Charles Saint Sark Medical Trust.
7. Torteval Scarecrow Festival
19 – 20 July 2025
Starting from Torteval Parish Church, walk the Scarecrow Trail through some of Torteval’s delightful lanes.
Popular with young and old alike, often with a current theme running through, food and drink available in the tents based in the fields in front of the church, trail maps can be picked up to guide you through the lanes and enjoy all the scarecrows placed in residents’ front gardens.
8. Alderney Week
4 – 9 August 2025
Each year, Alderney hosts the Channel Islands’ biggest festival. There’s plenty of live music and entertainment for children, along with parties, carnivals, and wild and wacky events for the whole family!
9. The West Show
13 – 14 August 2025
Established over 100 years ago, The West Show is Guernsey’s premier agricultural and horticultural show and prides itself on having retained the Guernsey traditions as well as incorporating entertainment for all the family.
Held over two days, the West Show is located on the picturesque West Coast of Guernsey at L’Eree, a large open area which was a former aerodrome.
The West Show features large displays of exhibits by residents in the traditional Country Show classes alongside a full programme of entertainment with UK and local acts. There are also loads of trade stalls, a funfair, pet tent, craft activities for little ones, face painting, tractors, military vehicles, Lawnmower racing and much more, and you have the perfect day (or two!) out for all ages.
Then as the sun starts to set, the beer tent comes alive with music on both evenings from Guernsey’s top bands.
10. Guernsey Air Display
10 September 2025
Guernsey’s annual air display has been enjoyed by thousands of people for over 60 years, hosting some of Britain’s most historic and treasured military aircraft, including the iconic Red Arrows, one of the world’s premier acrobatic display teams.
The Air Display takes place between Guernsey and Herm, with amazing views from Guernsey's east coast.
