We were delighted that Guernsey was, last week, voted Britain’s best island in The Telegraph’s guide “Britain’s 10 greatest islands – and how to reach them by ferry”.

We couldn’t agree more! The Locate team love to call Guernsey our home and we feel very privileged to be able to do so too! Where else in the world can you find that perfect work life balance, a fantastic business community and a stunning coastline whatever the weather?

Not to mention the abundance of amazing restaurants and bars on the Island where a cosmopolitan life is also very easy to achieve. Don’t just take our word. Some of Guernsey’s best and brightest gave us their thoughts:

“There is something very special about Guernsey. No matter where I travel I am always happy to come back to this little island. For me and my family it’s home, but when our friends come to visit they feel at home too – it’s that kind of place.”

Andy Priaulx – 3x World Touring Car Champion business man and philanthropist.

“What I love about Guernsey is that I can be dealing with a creative project for an international client at 5pm and be on the beach with my children at 5.30pm. It really is the best of both worlds.”

– Tom Langford – Managing Director at The Potting Shed

“Guernsey is one of the friendliest and most beautiful places I have ever experienced. I feel incredibly privileged to live and run a thriving business here.”

Mathew Rolfe – Director Bonsai Group

“I came to Guernsey in 1986 to work for 2 months…and I’m still here! It didn’t take me long to realise that this lovely island provided a wonderful work life balance and I’ve never regretted a moment of it. What better place to bring up your children, to have the time to enjoy your past times, yet also be right at the forefront of international business if you want to be. There are hundreds, no thousands more like me with similar stories. I used to view the island as an ‘undiscovered paradise’. Perhaps now is the time to let others discover it too!”

Gordon Irish – Business Developer, Private Client Team, Investec
