Locate Guernsey hosted a table at the Guernsey Community Awards last night which was organised by the wonderful Guernsey Community Foundation.
A number of our guests had recently relocated to the island and were impressed by what they saw of Guernsey’s incredibly generous community.
Ably hosted by Rob Moore of ITV Channel, the evening was a success all round. Philippa Stahelin of Headway Guernsey gave an informative keynote speech about the day to day running of charity, applying commercial knowledge to the third sector, and working alongside government to achieve success.
Everyone shortlisted was a winner in their own right, however, prizes were taken home by: Jack Honeybill (Friends of Les Bourgs Hospice), the Legacy Team for La Vallette, Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, PWC CI, This is Epic, and Millie Bourgaize (Youth Commission).
The top prize went to the GSPCA for their outstanding work in supporting local wildlife and raising awareness of animal welfare.
An excellent evening was had by all. As Guernsey Community Foundation Chairman Wayne Bulpitt said:
“Many of the award winners shy away from the limelight but it is so important to highlight their achievements to inspire many more to do similar charitable work”
We celebrated the very best of the generous community spirit of Guernsey last night. If you would like any more information about the Guernsey Community Foundation please visit: www.foundation.gg or www.volunteer.gg for volunteering opportunities.
