When it comes to food and drink, Guernsey people are rightfully proud of their local produce. With such a wide selection of local produce on offer and over 88 restaurants to choose from, Guernsey is a true foodie paradise island.

With our beautiful coastline and lush green landscapes, Guernsey is overflowing with picnic spots. We know life is about more than just work, so with minimal commute times providing more opportunities to enjoy socialising with your friends and family – why not head out to explore somewhere new!

When planning a picnic there are a few things you need to decide:

  • Will you head out for a picnic for breakfast, lunch or dinner?
  • Where will you go on your picnic?
  • What will you pack?

Here are the Locate Guernsey team’s top 3 picnic spots:

A breakfast picnic is a perfect way to start the day – head for a dip at La Vallette Bathing Pools before work, accompanied by a flask of tea and pastries before heading into work.

A tranquil spot for a lunchtime picnic is in the Rose Garden at Saumarez Park. An important social venue and the largest public park in Guernsey, remember to pack those sandwiches and pop those bubbles.

With a few more layers, blankets and a beach BBQ in tow – dinner on a sandy West coast beach is the epitome of a Guernsey Summer.  Even if you don’t fancy taking the BBQ down to the beach, why not grab some fish and chips and watch the sunset go down.
